Aarush is a versatile musician whose artistry spans performance on the piano, the drumkit, and the marimba, along with experimentation and projects in the field of music technology.

Aarush began his musical journey at the age of seven when he started playing the piano, and the drumkit the following year.

Marimba

Since 2023, I have self-taught myself to play the marimba. What made me fall in love with the instrument was its unique deep, albeit warm tone and versatility. I perform a variety of 2-mallet and 4-mallet repetoire from Bach, Monti, Breuer, and Carulli. My accolades on the instrument include the prestigious Young Musicians of the Gulf (YMoG) Lifetime Percussion Award, and the National Youth Orchestra's Prize Winning Soloist award for their Solo Concerto Competition 2025.

National Youth Orchestra (NYO)

Since 2024, I have been a valuable member of the National Youth Orchestra's percussion section. NYO is the UAE's largest and most prestigious orchestra, selecting only the top young musicians through a rigorous audition process. I play a variety of percussion instruments for the NYO including the marimba, xylophone, glockenspiel, timpani, and drumkit. We have performed several concerts at the Dubai Opera main stage to combined audiences of 5000+.

Carnegie Hall

During Summer 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City as part of the National Youth Orchestra (NYO) of Dubai. I had the privilege of performing the glockenspiel solo for "Ensemble of Piece", a piece by Ihab Dariwsh showcasing Emirati Music on a global stage. This performance marked a historic milestone, as this was the first time an orchestra from the region has performed at this prestigious concert hall.

Piano

I have been playing the piano for over ten years now and thoroughly enjoy playing a variety of classical and jazz music. I have had the privilege of competiting at international piano competitions such as the Young Musicians of the Gulf (YMoG) competition and attending masterclasses with expert pianists including Melanie Spanswick (RCM) and Andrew Smith (RAM). I am also the pianist for my school's selective jazz band.
