Founded in 2022, the DC Sustainability Club has since grown into a thriving community of 70+ members committed to improving sustainability both within DC and beyond. As Founder and President of the club, I organize weekly sessions for club members including debates, sessions with guest speakers, and hands-on project work.

Metanoia

Metanoia Audit

Since the inception of the DC Sustainability Club I have been working with Metanoia, a HK-based sustainability consultancy firm, to audit Dubai College's environmental footprint. Over the course of two years, I assisted in collection of primary data, surveying the school leadership team, and writing the final audit report. I was also invited to write the opening remarks of the final report from the perspctive of a student environmental leader.

DCICC

In 2024, I spearheaded the launch of the region’s first and largest interschool climate competition – the Dubai College Interschool Climate Competition (DCICC). Over a six-month period, 150+ students from 13 schools across Dubai identified key sustainability issues in their school communities, developed innovative solutions, and implemented these solutions to drive impactful change.

Masdar Y4S

In recognition of my efforts as a climate changemaker in the UAE, I was invited to join Masdar’s Youth4Sustainability program, a prestigious and highly competitive year-long program that offers sustainability training and education to only 50 students from the UAE each year. As part of the program, I’ve had the privilege of attending Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), the region’s leading climate event, and discuss climate action with global dignitaries including H.E. Wavel Ramkalawan (PM of Seychelles), H.E. Anwar Ibrahim (PM of Malaysia), and H.E. Petteri Orpo (PM of Finland).

In recognition of my efforts as a climate changemaker in the UAE, I was invited by The Alliance for Sustainable Schools (TASS) to lead a session on Sustainable School Lunches in the UAE at COP28 Dubai.
